DESCRIPTION:Manchester has in the last twenty five years become a low wage city with thousnds of working class households working low wage jobs with wage suppressed by both employers and the government. This year though has seen millions of people vote to end austerity and for a future which is not based on economic struggles for the many and super-profits for the priveleged few. \nManchester Trades Union Council invite all trade unionists and campaigners to join us in building for a better future. One where workers are rewarded with the fruits of their labour. North West UNISON – \nCare workers for change campaign – A better future for workers and everyone who needs care. \n3. Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS) – \nUniversal Credit and Jobcentre Closures – How can we get our services back? \n13.45-14.45 \nUnite Community session\n1. World Basic Income- \nWorld Basic Income – Has its time come? \n2. Unite Community – details TBC \n3. DESCRIPTION:Momentum host a public panel discussion ahead of the Tory party conference upstairs at Partisan. \n“Labour in Power” a topical discussion hosted by Manchester and Trafford Momentum. Labour’s gains in the June GE brought closer the prize of a radical socialist government for Britain. This discussion will focus on the questions of what a radical Labour government could achieve in power\, dwell on previous experience to ask what challenges it might face and most importantly how those challenges could be overcome.\n\nPanel includes: Paul Mason – Journalist\, Filmaker and author of “Post-capitalism” Lauren Stocks – Tameside based Momentum and Young Labour member.
